John has spent about twenty years perfecting his sculptural techniques, often depicting schools of fish and elephants. He works in a variety of locally sourced stone and works with Dominic Benhura Studios. Initially, John only sculpted part time at Utonga Studio while studying at college Hotel and Restaurant Management. His brothers Luckson, Daniel and Alfred were encouraging of his artistic talent and convinced John to apprentice with his older brother Jonathan. By 2000, he joined Dominic Benhura Studios and found his strengths and has never looked back. He has participated in many group exhibitions throughout Zimbabwe and in Europe and North America and has done several commissions for companies and hotels and private collectors.
